Mr. RONALD C. COSTALES, a native of Umingan, Pangasinan, is an organic farming practitioner and a staunch advocate of organic agriculture, an agri - technology innovator, a self-sacrificing extension service provider and an astute agri-entrepreneur. He was a working student in college (worked as a jeepney driver and a security guard while studying) and graduated Magna Cum Laude at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering. Upon graduation, he was immediately hired as a Computer Specialist by a Telecommunications firm in Makati. After spending 19 years in a corporate jungle with a very stressful life, he decided to stop and escaped the corporate life in 2004 at the age of 39 as the Executive Vice President of PhilCom Corporation (IT and Engineering Department). He then ventured into organic farming, initially, for family consumption. What started as a hobby and in pursuit of his main belief that an all-Natural and Chemical-Free Food is the cornerstone for a Healthy Lifestyle has given rise to the 5-hectare Costales Nature Farms – an Integrated Certified Organic Farm and the first ever Agri-Tourism destination in the Philippines accredited by the Department of Tourism. Paying it forward, Mon serves as the President of Metrobank ASSET Inc. (an association of Metrobank scholar-alumni).
