Turkey Charged with Cooperating with ISIS The charge seems immediately validated by ISIS operations on Turkish soil. Now I have to claim some credit. As soon as the Obama administration claimed that Turkey was joining the anti-ISIS coalition, I immediately knew (and said so here) that Turkey was likely playing the Obama White House and was probably joining the coalition only to share coalition intelligence with ISIS. Turkey, in short, cannot be trusted. I said this because Turkey and ISIS share their two principal enemies: the Assad regime and the Kurds. Turkey would not want to destroy ISIS if that would strengthen these two opponents. The Obama White House was susceptible to being played because it desperately needed Turkey in the coalition in order to produce PR suggesting the coalition might succeed at a time when virtually all knowledgeable parties -- including sources at the Pentagon and in allied Arab governments -- were saying that the Obama strategy for fighting ISIS could not work and would not succeed. But the claim that Turkey had inexplicably joined the coalition allowed the White House to go into the midterm election with the semblance of a workable plan on paper. That worked out well in the election, didnt it? Now, having admitted an ISIS ally into the military coalition to fight ISIS for shert-term domestic political gain, the White House is truly in a fix -- a military alliance with an ally of our enemy. huffingtonpost/2014/11/29/isis-kobani-turkey_n_6240446.html
