Tuscaloosa Area Law Enforcement Agencies Present National Night Out Against Crime August 6, 2013 Sokol Park - 6:00pm – 8:00pm Police displays, Demonstrations, Free Food, Fun, and Fellowship! Tuscaloosa Police Department, along with Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Department, and other Tuscaloosa County area police departments, invite all our citizens to join us for National Night Out Against Crime at Sokol Park on Tuesday, August 6th, 2013 from 6:00pm till 8:00pm. This will be the 30th Anniversary of the National Night Out events held across the United States. The introduction of National Night Out, “America’s Night Out Against Crime”, in 1984 began an effort to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. National Night Out events are held annually, on the first Tuesday of August. There will be displays and demonstrations of law enforcement equipment, technology, and vehicles. Residents are encouraged to come out, bring the family, have a hotdog and get to know their officers.
