Twenty-five states didnt take up the Obamacare Medicaid expansion at the beginning of this year, and the results speak for themselves: A new survey shows more than one-third of their lowest-income residents remain uninsured, a rate virtually unchanged from last year, even as millions gained coverage elsewhere. Conveniently, Republicans have attacked the Affordable Care Act for failing the American people, but the reason why it is not helping millions of impoverished Americans is because they were unlucky enough to reside in a Republican state that decided to obstruct the expansion of Medicaid, even when it was completely paid for by the federal government. No, this isnt about fiscal responsibility, as preventing this expansion costs us more than providing health care to those in poverty; this is about an evil antipathy against the poor, as well as an unhealthy hatred against President Obama.
