Twenty years ago I came home to Statesville, N.C. after finishing my Masters at L.S.U., and spent some good time with friend since 1st grade, Michael Williams, who was always the person who introduced me to influential bands and music that shaped my musical tastes. So in 1994 I met Mike and his now lovely wife Shannon, in Charlotte for the Further Festival. And Mike started giving me tapes (yes children there were these things called tapes) of a band he was following around called Phish. Done and done, I was hooked and almost started a thesis like study of the band, and their music that has continued for 20 years. SO.....Tonight I head to Charlotte again with Mike and Shannon to the PNC Music Amphitheater to see Phish. Im a bit like a 25 year old again, giddy with anticipation for sharing in the groove with some dear friends and fans. Have a good show folks.
