Two Aught Fourteen If I were to think about giving you a name It would have to include separation and some pain Exposing all the dissatisfaction that you claimed It was the kind of year one would like to forget Any chance of joy was overshadowed with regret And its time to lay your namesake down to rest Goodbye to you now, youve not been much of a friend You have disappointed me time and time again Others may have some thoughts but these alone are mine I hope and pray that your successor will be kind We have lost so much within your name and in your time And it may be difficult to leave your works behind Youve strengthened our defenses, reinforcing their supply Now as your last hours are quickly coming to an end Well be praying that your memories wont rise up again We are looking forward for our open wounds to mend Goodbye to you now, youve not been much of a friend You have disappointed me time and time again Others may have some thoughts but these alone are mine I hope and pray that your successor will be kind So I guess Ill just call you over, now, two-aught-fourteen I never ushered in your welcome but Im glad to see you leave And I expect there will be healing in this new year to receive 12-31-14 Wishing you all a healthy, safe, prosperous and Happy New Year.
