Two Fridays ago, we were still in Spain eating tapas and sipping wine. Somehow, I can still taste the perfectly grilled pulpo and paella in my mouth. So yummy! While in Seville we took day trips to nearby cities. One of them was Cordova: the capital of leather. After running to the numerous leather shops with my 17th year old boy on the quest for the perfect present for his girlfriend, we got pretty good at getting lost and luckily at finding our way through the ancient cobblestone winding streets I was a sneaky mom; all I asked in return was for him to practice his Spanish to get us back to our meeting place! He surprised me….The things a boy would do for love! On top of our list and prior to our leather quest of course were the historical sights. The Great Cathedral and Mosque. This magnificent and impressive Moorish Mosque was built on the site of a Roman temple then converted into a Cathedral during the reign of Ferdinand III in the 13th century. It is one of those hard to explain, so impressive and inspiring sights you just have to see. So make sure you put the Andalusia region in Spain on your wish list for 2015. Stay tuned, one more city to come next week.
