Two bus conductors, Augustine Emenim, 30, and John Ikhana, 35, have been arraigned for stealing goods worth N8m. According to the prosecutor, Inspector Chinalu Uwadione, the goods were made up of Nestle Nigeria products. The goods belonged to M.D.S Logistics Company. Emenim and and Ikhana reside at at Isebo Area off Alakija, Ibadan, Oyo State, and No 17 Musa Adewokun St., Ojota, Lagos, respectively. Both face two counts of conspiracy and stealing. Uwadione said "Messrs Emenim and Ikhana and others still at large conspired to commit the offence at 10am on April 25 at Oregun, Lagos. They diverted the products which they were supposed to take to Umuahia, Abia State, to an unknown destination. They are liable to punishment under Section 285 and 409, Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2011." The two defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges against them. The presiding magistrate, Ms. A.O. Akinde, granted them bail in the sum of N1m with two sureties in like sum. She adjourned the case to July 23 for mention.
