Two days of Art and Paris, Thursday was kicked off with a trip to the Arc de Triumph, but it was raining so we stayed on the ground, sorry Ann King we did not climb to the top. After a brisk walk down the Champs Elysie and to the Tullies Gardens we entered the forecourt of the Louvre and took one look at the queue and said we will pass, so off to Notre Dame and a real eye opener for Andy into the skill of medieval architects. After a gentle walk from Notre Dame along the Left Bank of the Seine we arrived at the Musee DOrsay for a 4.5 hour trek through every room in the Musem. Alex King was enraptured as always with pretty much everything, but Andy was pretty pleased with a whole floor of Impressionist works and then manfully put up with Alex s obsessions for statues, bronzes by Rodin and argued over the artistic merit of Gaugan and Van Gogh, early v later works. Just when our eye balls were pooping out we finally left and sought a cleansing, well Andy hadnt been in two churches in a single day for sometime so off to Sacre Coure in the hills above Paris, great church terrific view, if It was not covered in cloud so sorry Ann we did not climb to the top. Total walking was about 25-30 km
