Two for the price of one: lovely to hear singing from the BCCS - TopicsExpress

Two for the price of one: lovely to hear singing from the BCCS Gospel Choir and from our own children (Five Little Monkeys!) on BBC Radio 4s Today programme this morning. Some quotes. Neil Blundell, our Executive Principal: CPS would not exist with the Free Schools programme and I think it will be absolutely to the benefit of families and young people in Bristol. I think over the years you will see their musical potential and their academic potential because of this new school opening...We want our curriculum to be rich and diverse and exciting...We are very interested to see how music as a specialism can help our children to acquire life skills...Part of the vision for the school is to have more of an impact on the early years musical curriculum. Mum (of two boys): We picked this school because [BCCS] has got a very good reputation. We like the ethos of the Headmaster, the Principal. We really bought into what he said about free schools: that they can tailor [teaching] to their individual needs. Mum (of a girl): She is having a wonderful time at school. Reporter: did it appeal because it was a Free School? I know that the school has a lot more freedom...The fact that this Free School is the sister school of the Cathedral [School - BCCS] is very reassuring for parents. Our thanks to reporter Tom Bateman for an excellent report. Enjoy the half-term break!
