Two incidents last night: Tasked to Whitmore Bay. A female was reported to be in the water fully clothed. When we arrived a family had managed to get her out of the water. She was extremely cold, shivering and starting to go blue. She had been in the for at least 45mins. We covered her with a survival blanket and sat her in the Coastguard truck awaiting the ambulance. While waiting, another call came in to back up Llantwit Coastguard at Southerndown. A female in her late 20s was standing on the edge of a 200ft cliff. Llantwit Coastguard had set up a full cliff rescue system just in case she slipped partially down the cliff. We went to the bottom of the cliff to immediately attend to her if she did reach the bottom. A police negotiator eventually managed to talk her around and get her to the safety of the police vehicle.
