Two programs for ‘Summer 2015 Study of the U.S. Institutes’ are offered by the US Embassy in Madagascar: 1- For Secondary Educators 2- For Scholars The following gives more explanation about the two programs: 1- Summer 2015 Study of the U.S. Institutes for Secondary Educators The ultimate goal of the Institutes is to strengthen curricula, enhance the quality of teaching about the United States in secondary schools and other academic institutions abroad and offer specialized seminars/workshops for education professionals in U.S. studies or related fields. Candidates should be mid-career, aged 30-50, highly-motivated and experienced secondary school educators. These Institutes are for secondary school teachers, teacher trainers, curriculum developers, textbook writers, ministry of education officials, secondary school administrators, or other related professionals with responsibility for secondary education. While the nominees scholarly and professional credentials are an important consideration, the potential impact and multiplier effect of the Institute is equally important. The U.S. Embassy in Madagascar is pleased to invite candidate applications for six-week post-graduate level academic programs in the United States. Candidates should be mid-career, aged 30-50, highly-motivated, experienced scholars and professionals generally from institutions of higher education or research focused organizations (not-for-profits, think tanks, etc.). While the educational level of participants will likely vary, most should have graduate degrees and have substantial knowledge of the thematic area of the Institute or a related field.
