Two really well made movies that were giving me a sense of Deja Vu!! I knew it.... whenever I am impressed with a Telugu movie, it is invariably inspired from somewhere. 1. Chandamama Kathalu - potentially inspired from Third Person. However, the director took a dark, mediocre, patchy story and gave it depth and volume, and actually did a really good job. Apologies if this was just a coincidence, but in the industry... no such thing!! 2. Oohalu Gusagusalade - A true adaptation of a French play (and, of course, the endearing Roxanne), once again made really well by the director!! I loved the word play and the clever dialogue. Kudos to the writer/director here, who finally proves that one man can indeed do two jobs! While not the most original in the market, these two would be my picks for the movies to watch this year. Now, if only our guys could start crediting their sources!!
