Two red rubber things/Ray Lonsdale 7 minutes ago Frogs and Snails etc. Happy new year to all who read this, both Bev and I really appreciate the support we have enjoyed over the past year and hope you all keep in touch over the coming one. Heres hoping for a good one. Upon returning to work I will be chasing up on a couple of the projects that were developing over the latter half of last year with a view to clarifying some sort of a work schedule for the remains of the winter and into the spring. I am contemplating starting another big piece on spec but at the minute am unsure of the scale or subject. The head is a tad scattered on this as I really want to do a quite dramatic piece on Thatchers effect on heavy industry in the 80s. The problem is, what I have in mind would never actually sell and can I afford that sort of folly? Bev and I were invited down to Shepton Mallet in November to discuss a project down there and if it comes off it would be a tremendous opportunity to raise the profile of the town. If they go all out for the full piece it would be an iconic work but well just have to sit tight as the aim time wise is for completion in 2018. Away from work, we have just recently joined the ranks of dog owners. How it happened Im not quite sure but we ended up parting with a few hundred quid for what used to be called a mongrel. I parted with the money cos the place we got him from stank so bad that I just couldnt stay there any longer. I had my head out of the door and waved the notes about in an effort to escape as quickly as possible. What we ended up with a lovable , bouncy, affectionate, furry, pee and poo factory called Alf. Never having had a puppy before I have a few questions, such as , How come you put a cupfull of liquid in yet get a pint pot out? How can something so small destroy things so easily? And why are poo sacks made from the thinnest plastic known to man? I dont want to feel the heat or texture of the contents and live in fear of sticking in my thumb and pulling out a plum (so to speak). At least he is doing them outside, I know this because I pressed one neatly into the recesses of the decking with my bare foot. Lovely. Anyway, all the best. Ray.
