Two weeks ago, we got a request from HERAF Kenya to help in identifying a woman who has made an impact in the lives of other women and children in Nyeri county. We forwarded the name of Mary Muthoni Njangu - a cancer survivor who has dedicated her life in assisting and counseling cancer victims. During our free cancer medical camp in October last year, we dedicated a tent to her and four other cancer survivors to assist us. After we profiled her, HERAF Kenya forwarded her name to the National Gender and Equality Commission. Today, Mary Muthoni Njangu has been awarded the Inspirational Woman of the year 2014 Award - Nyeri county, in recognition of her work. Congratulations Muthoni and all other women making positive impacts in the lives of others.
