Typical village homes, the older ones are mudbrick and thatch newer ones from home made fired bricks seen below, they literally mould the soil into bricks, let them dry, then stack and fire them with wood. Quality is very variable according to how much clay is in the soil and how hot they get. If they can afford it they do use cement mortar to lay the bricks as a single skin wall, if not wet soil is used instead. Foundations are at least 9 inches deep and the floor compacted soil. Roofs some use galvanized iron others a polythene sheet with thatch on top. We did see round metal structures that were made from corn bin sections, yes, they were home to some poor sod.
