(Dictionary) If you don’t think we are living under a tyrannical government or one heading in that direction, you might want to rethink that. Just some examples: IRS targeting conservative groups Department of Justice seizing phone records, emails and social media information of Fox News reporter and family Department of Justice seizing phone records of the Associated Press National Security Agency and Department of Homeland Security gathering phone records from Verizon Department of Homeland Security asserts right to seize laptops, phones, etc at border crossing to copy content and hold equipment for weeks if they deem necessary FBI wants software developers to install “backdoors” to their software for the FBI to use as it sees fit Government “data mining” internet traffic The New York Times finally gets it. Wonder what took so long? “The administration has now lost all credibility. Mr. Obama is proving the truism that the executive will use any power it is given and very likely abuse it. That is one reason we have long argued that the Patriot Act, enacted in the heat of fear after the 9/11 attacks by members of Congress who mostly had not even read it, was reckless in its assignment of unnecessary and overbroad surveillance powers.”
