Tzedakah Ministries Response to Apple ... I have three responses in consideration in asking for an appeal to your declination decision for Tzedakah Ministries App. 1) While I recognize that appealing to existing Messianic Jewish organizations (such as Ariel Ministries and The Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry) which currently have Apple apps will not be considered as valid reasons for Tzedakah Ministries to have an app, I would like to appeal to consistency in your evaluation process. It is inappropriate of Apple to allow for one set of Messianic Jewish apps and then to suddenly decide to decline another set of Messianic Jewish apps. 2) There is nothing within Tzedakah Ministries App that is defamatory, offensive, mean-spirited or likely to expose the targeted group to harm or violence and I would like to request evidence as to where such information is present. In fact, Tzedakah Ministries has engaged in active affirmation of the Jewish people and Israel. Indeed, as someone who advocates religious freedom and freedom of speech, I am surprised that Apple would limit someones religious freedom and speech to share the message of Jesus with someone else. If Apple is interested in pursuing this line of restriction then all evangelistic outreaches to people/ethnic groups should be restricted from current and future Apple apps. Is that something which Apple wishes to engage in on their platforms? 3) Jesus was Himself Jewish. Sharing the message of love, forgiveness, restoration and peace that Jesus wished to share with the world is a Jewish action and therefore it should not be hindered, restricted, and/or prohibited from being shared with any and all peoples, including the people group from whom Jesus Himself came. I would be more than happy to speak directly with individuals from Apple about this decision as I believe an incorrect and misguided decision was made. A decision that Apple surely does not wish to establish as a baseline for future communication to its public. Respectfully, Amy Downey -- Director Tzedakah Ministries
