UAE 2013: Eaglets barred from signing foreign deals Golden Eaglets assistant coach, Nduka Ugbade has confirmed that they have stopped players of the team from signing contracts with foreign clubs. In a chat with Brila FM, Ugbade added that such a stand is aimed towards avoiding distraction in the team. We have said none of the players should sign any contract for now because they are still underage but whatever contract their guardian or parents sign will be closely monitored by the Nigeria Football Federation” “We are doing this at this time in order not to distract the players and the psychology of the team as a whole” he told Brila FM. The 2013 FIFA U20 World championship is just 2days away from kick-off (17th October) in the United Arab Emirates. The Golden Eaglets led by Coach Manu Garba enjoyed 2weeks of closed camping in Dubai to further strengthen the squad ahead of the tournament. Coach Garba will lead his team out on Monday 19th October against the defending champions Mexico in Al Ain City, just about 160 km east of the capital, Abu Dhabi. Debutants Sweden and Iraq are the two other teams in Group F and will face each other in the day’s second game.
