UDOM EMMANUEL: A MANIFESTATION OF GOD’S WILL IN AKWA IBOM Joseph Okon These promises and assurance as contained in the Book of Revelation is fulfilling now in Udom Emmanuel, the current Secretary to the State Government as the 2015 Governorship election in Akwa Ibom State gathers the heat, and as the echoes of massive called on him to contest becomes louder and stronger. It says, “I know thy works: Behold, I have set before thee an OPEN DOOR, and no MAN can SHUT it: for thou has been HONEST and UPRIGHT before me, and hast KEPT my WORD, and hast not denied my Name. Behold, I will make them of Different Camps which says they are POWERFUL, when they are not, but do LIE; Behold, I will make them to come and WORSHIP before thy FEET, that they may know that I LOVE THEE, and I have CHOSEN thee to GOVERN MY PEOPLE. Because thou hast been FAITHFUL in all things, and remain PATIENCE, I also will KEEP THEE from the days and hours of TEMPTATION, which shall come. Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no Man take thy CROWN”. Udom Emmanuel will be what he was destined to become. Why some people are still searching elsewhere for the saviour and Messiah to redeem them when he is here? Udom is a wonderful manifestation of God’s will for Akwa Ibom. The whole universe has come together to make him succeed in the 2015 governorship election. There is nothing he cannot do as far as leadership and good governance is concerned, he is the needed tonic in the sustainable transformation agenda of the present administration. The happiness, prosperity, and liberation from the shackles of civil service state to an industrial heaven depend on making Udom Emmanuel the next Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom state. The God who owns him knows his competency and abilities, being a destined and ordained leader by God, he has been prepared sufficiently and exposed in all levels of development to surmount the task of revolutionizing Akwa Ibom state industrially, and has come forth at the right time to fulfil the God ordained destiny in him. This is in fulfilment of God’s promise that in the fullness of time, God sent forth his servant leader whom he has chosen and prepared to lead his people at this appointed time. There are thousand reasons that all Akwa Ibom people should support this articulate and tested technocrat with a promising future for the entire state to succeed in becoming the next governor. This is a man who has seen it all in the industrial and entrepreneurial sector; this experience will aid him in industrialization vision. Udom Emmanuel is the only man among all these aspirants without any trace of dubiousness in him which his clean records in the private sector is a clear evidence and testimony to this. God has done his own part by giving Udom Emmanuel to Akwa Ibom state; it therefore left for Akwa Ibom people to clearly see that this is a perfect gift from God, and makes good use of it or despised him and be damned forever. One thing is very sure in God’s plan which is no matter how blinded the people may be or crumbling; the purposes of God in Udom Emmanuel cannot be derailed but must surely come to pass. It is true that Nigerians and Akwa Ibomites like celebrating corruption. The most corrupt public office holders are now the most celebrated everywhere and called the man of the people because of peanuts they may give to supporters. The people themselves don’t even care to know how many developmental projects they have been deprived by the so called man of the people, just because he shares peanuts to them out of the stolen or diverted billions. It’s very disturbing to hear some blind men and women in Akwa Ibom state singing praises to a man who sat for seven years in the State Ministry of Finance squandering billions and divert same to his private accounts. Let it be known to all that these men who were in this government since its inception till 2012 or 2013 are the problems of the present administration not the Governor. They have embezzled so much for themselves that they became small gods with money which they are now pumping out to buy the governorship seat in 2015 and continue their normal way of looting. They have no good vision or plan for Akwa Ibom state apart from Udom Emmanuel who is tirelessly working on how to make the state a better place where industries can thrive. What is happening in Akwa Ibom state today as more people are now calling on the SSG to contest the 2015 governorship is a clear indication that Akwa Ibom people have seen and appreciate the sterling leadership qualities, capacity and competency of Mr Udom Emmanuel to lead the state successfully and achieve a sustainable uncommon transformation through industrialization, and bring prosperity to all. It is only a pocket of greedy individuals and those in the habit of celebrating thieves and people with criminal records that are against the SSG because they know his antecedence and pedigree as a just-man, who does not condone criminalities at any degree, which is why they are against him. But since God destiny cannot fail, certainly there is no force on earth that will stop Udom Emmanuel from becoming the next governor of Akwa Ibom state except rapture like Enoidem would say. Today, every nooks and cranny in the state have cashed the vision of a better Akwa Ibom state through Udom Emmanuel; he has proved beyond all reasonable doubts that he has the capacity and competency to give the state that needed leadership that will transform the landscape of Akwa Ibom state industrially. With one year in office, he has facilitated the siting of a Petrochemical industry in the state which before now was impossible. As the Chief driver of the engine room of government, the SSG has never and will never play politics with the development of the state. He responds to any issue that has to do with the state and give prompt attention it deserves whenever such an issue comes to his notice. Recently the SSG had to cut short his official engagements in the office and personally moved immediately to the site on hearing that there were some miscreants who went to vandalize lights at the site of the newly commissioned Gas Plant. On many other occasions when Governor Akpabio is away from the state, the SSG and the Deputy Governor has been able to effectively filled the vacuum of the Governor’s presence by professionally discharging the ministerial responsibilities of his office effectively which has to do with the day-to-day running of all the machineries of government. Before now, that was never the case. Whenever the governor is not around, the so called drivers of government then will start their 2015 campaigns, apart from that, it was an open secret and a known fact that the occupant of the engine room of government then before the present one, had sat on the rights and progress of many Akwa Ibomites especially those who refused to join the band wagon in supporting his governorship ambition for 2015. These and many other issues had compounded the problems and burden on the governor, the story has changed significantly to the admiration of all today through this God sent professional administrator, Udom Gabriel Emmanuel. Today, the former councillors can smile again with the payment of their severance awards and entitlements courtesy of the excellent managerial competency and ingenuity of the SSG in ensuring that those who have laboured are given the wages of their labour which before now was impossible. In all indications, if there is anybody deserving massive supports from all Akwa Ibom people is Udom Emmanuel, he is very clean and fresh for Akwa Ibom to explore his inherent talent and capacity to industrialize this state, not the rotten ones who have served government for many years and learn various ways and forms of stealing and embezzlements. He is the only man who has not offended or insults anybody be it a stakeholder or ordinary Akwa Ibomites in the name of politics, which interprets that Udom Emmanuel, does not and is not supposed to have any political enemy with all honesty. Akwa Ibom does not need a politician as the next governor but a professional in finance management who is tested and proven; with the requisite leadership capacity and competency to attract developments like industries to the state like Udom Emmanuel have started. It is now clear that Udom Emmanuel is the only man that perfectly fit into this wonderful developmental desire of Akwa Ibom people come 2015. If anybody had committed atrocity for somebody expecting governorship reward in 2015, he will be disappointed because that era has passed. As much as I know, it is only those who have committed atrocities for somebody waiting for the masters compensations will come and say when we did it this other person was not there. To the best of my knowledge and available records to prove, those politicians who are clamouring being laboured and suffered for the state are million times richer than they came in. It is true that most of them are still spending clean naira note of 2005 to 2008 that was signed by Prof. Charles Soludo talk less of 2009 to2011. So what then are they complaining, just to answer the name “governor”? Udom Emmanuel is a true symbol of God’s anointed one. He has earned the respects and admirations of all people of goodwill within Akwa Ibom and outside Nigeria. A man of honour, dignity, very courageous, and fearless in all things, and has been exposed to a maximum level in the private sector. His days in the private sector have taken him around the world as he moves around the globe doing business with high class investors. His superlative performance in the banking sector stood him out among his contemporaries because God has been with him, and he walks with God always. As a professional, the SSG has not allowed the pressure on him from all and sundry to contest the 2015 governorship election in the state to interfere with his official duties as the secretary to state government, he is very focus and still discharged his functions to the admiration of all including the governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio. This is a clear evidence that governance has completely been moved away from politicking and mediocrity to a level of professionalism. Governance in Akwa Ibom state have now grown above the level of share the money, but some people are so blindfolded that they have not seen or feel this remarkable departure from their primitive era they used to victimize people they supposed to serve. It is very sad to note that some unserious governorship aspirants who are still living in the past want money to be shared instead of development. They said that Akpabio has built the infrastructure, and now is the time to share the money; this has further naked the emptiness of our aspirants to the public, apart from the SSG who has already come out with his industrialization blue print for Akwa Ibom. Udom Emmanuel is the only man who can go to any length and explore the potentials in the state to ensure that his vision of industrializing this state comes to fusion. He has all it takes in his disposal both monetary and connection wise coupled with the niche he has caved for himself as an honest, trusted, and reliable personality. Truly, the SSG is a manifestation of God’s will at the appointed time for the people of Akwa Ibom state. Udom Emmanuel today stands as the bridge of prosperity between the old, younger, and the generations yet unborn as he will provides them a means to cross over to reach their final destination in development. Akwa Ibom people! Be wise or perish as fools.
