UFC 165 gets two new fights A pair of Canadians have been added to the upcoming UFC 165 card as Greater Toronto Area natives Mark Bocek and Chris Clements have been added to the Toronto event. Bocek (11-5) is set to take on Michel Prazeres in a lightweight bout. Bocek is coming off a loss to Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 154 in Montreal last November. The bout will mark the fifth fight in his last six outings that has taken place in Canada. Prazeres (16-1) is coming off his first career loss – a unanimous decision to fellow Brazilian Paulo Thiago at UFC on FX 8 on May 18. Meanwhile, Clements will face acclaimed kickboxing world champion Stephen Thompson in a welterweight tilt. Clements (11-4, 1 NC) hasn’t competed since a submission loss to Matthew Riddle at UFC 149 in Calgary last summer – the loss to Riddle was changed to a no contest after Riddle failed a post-fight drug screening after testing positive for marijuana. The 37-year-old Chatham, Ont., native had shoulder surgery after that fight and has since recovered. Thompson (7-1) bounced back from his first career loss to matt Brown at UFC 145 by winning a unanimous decision over Nah-Shon Burrell at UFC 160 in May. The matchups, which were first reported by UFC Central host Showdown Joe Ferraro Wednesday evening, are expected to take place on the preliminary card. UFC 165 takes palce Sept. 21 at the Air Canada Centre and will be headlined by a light-heavyweight title fight between Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson. -The Captain
