UGLY TRUCK IN NEED OF TLC The Good, bad, and basics Good & Basics --1997 GMC 1500 Z71 4WD Pick Up Truck --2 Door with 2nd row of seats --V8 5.0L --Automatic --AC (needs freon) --Has pioneer deck in it with removable face --Bed Liner + ARE Hard bed cover --Has been essentially a 1 owner vehicle (from the showroom floor to the farm where it got its personality) --Tires are in good condition --Runs well, even the 4wd --Electric windows (work fine) --Power locks (dont always work great) --Does have a towing package, but he kept the ball for his new truck (which btw is the SAME truck, he loved it that much) --Never been smoked in --Engine is solid & has had a recent tune up since she arrived at the beach. It was driven down here from the Charlotte Area, and would go across the map if you needed her to and dont mind the ugly truck! Now the Bad --Obviously the body. After one attempt to do body work by a group that was obviously not firing on all cylinders, the truck was just left with her dings and dents. Its never been involved in an automobile vehicle accident, all of the dents came from trees, tractors, and the sort. He lived on a cedar farm on the lake, and the trucks beauty did not come first :) --There is something going on with back lights. Im no mechanic, so I cant tell you if they just need to be replaced, rewired, or some type of fuse. Sorry I wish I could tell you but the base line is when the headlights are on, the brake lights do not come on, when the headlights are off, the brake lights work fine. Again, not a mechanic, so this is another reason the truck is a great value for someone who has mechanical backing. --When you turn on the truck there is a clicking in the vent that is either a small piece of plastic, leaf, stick or something of that sort. Sometimes it makes a click, sometimes it doesnt (you can turn the air on and off and it will make the difference.) I think a good cleaning would cure this. But again Im NOT a mechanic, just trying to tell you any and everything I know about this. Bottom line, this was passed from my father to my son for when he turned 16 he could drive. Hes not interested in fixing it up anymore, and has told us to just sell it. Hopefully someone will be able to enjoy this truck, and fix it up. Its got a lot of life still left in it, but it will need some work to look pretty again! Asking 1100 but we are considering offers. The truck HAS to be gone this week, as were moving and can not have three parking spots at our new home. Please private message for more info, questions or offers!
