UK Minister admits nothing off the table in post-Yes - TopicsExpress

UK Minister admits nothing off the table in post-Yes negotiations Commenting on the story in the Herald newspaper today in which Defence Secretary Philip Hammond says that: There will be nothing non-negotiable – everything will be on the table in the negotiations after a Yes vote – directly contradicting the bluff from George Osborne, Ed Balls and Danny Alexander that there would be no negotiation on a currency union – Deputy First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said: Philip Hammond has just effectively confirmed the story in the Guardian from an unnamed UK Government Minister that of course there will be a currency union between an independent Scotland and the rest of the UK. By saying that as far as the UK Government is concerned there will be nothing non-negotiable and that everything will be on the table after a Yes vote, Mr Hammond has now conceded that by definition there will be negotiations on currency – flatly contradicting the bluff and bluster from his Cabinet colleague George Osborne. snp.org/media-centre/news/2014/apr/uk-minister-nothing-table-post-yes
