UM Student Affairs and Academic Affairs will celebrate Constitution Day and commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 16th Street Baptist Church bombing, and all are invited to attend. The documentary 4 Little Girls will be screened Tuesday, Sept. 17, and Wednesday, Sept. 18, at 3 p.m. each day, in the Merchants and Planters Bank Auditorium in Comer Hall. On Thursday, Sept. 19, Michele Forman will speak and lead a discussion in the Anna Irvin Dining Hall, beginning at 3:30 p.m. Forman is director of visual literacy at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and is co-director of the Media Studies Program. Forman, a documentary filmmaker, gained her experience as an executive in feature films. As director of development at Spike Lee’s 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks, she was responsible for the acquisition and development of new projects. In addition, Forman served as associate producer on Lee’s Academy-Award-nominated film, 4 Little Girls.
