UNCW Cancels Classes/Events for Thursday, Jan. 30 In recognition of current and anticipated hazardous conditions, including the presence of ice on sidewalks and local roadways, all university classes and events scheduled for Thursday, January 30, have been canceled. Please read the below message carefully as it contains updates on campus services, timekeeping for faculty/staff, and further emergency communications. Faculty and staff should not come to campus tomorrow unless they have been notified by their supervisors to do so. Services for students living on campus: - Randall Library will open at 10 a.m. and close at 4 p.m. - Wagoner Dining Hall will open at 8 a.m. on Thursday. - The Student Recreation Center will open at 10 a.m. on Thursday. - All three facilities will remain open as staffing and conditions allow; updates regarding closing times will be posted at UNCW.edu. Please check the website before heading to any of these locations. Please visit UNCW.edu for information regarding timekeeping. Persons who are considered essential personnel and have to report to campus will be paid in accordance with UNCW Policy 08.216. There will be information distributed at a later date regarding plans to make up lost instructional hours. An email message will be sent and a website message posted no later than 5 p.m. on Thursday regarding classes and events on Friday.
