UPCOMING BLP CONFERENCE The mood in the Barbados Labour Party - TopicsExpress

UPCOMING BLP CONFERENCE The mood in the Barbados Labour Party is reportedly upbeat despite a notable omission from their 76th Annual General Conference slated for next weekend at the St. Leonards school. Former Prime Minister and Party Leader, Owen Arthur resigned from the party earlier this year and is not expected to be there after removing himself from the opposition benches. Conference Chairman, MP for the City, Colonel Jeffrey Bostic told a news briefing at BLP headquarters, that they still have a full slate of delegates and BLP members are eagerly looking forward to the event. A number of resolutions will be up for discussion, along with issues related to education, health and sanitation in Barbados. Opposition Leader, Mia Mottley will take to the stage on Saturday, the second day of the event. A rally planned for yesterday to sensitize the public about the annual conference was called off, reportedly due to logistical issues.
