UPDATE 4:10 P.M. PDT: Allegiant continues to work around the clock to address the situation involving the overhaul of emergency evacuation slides on its MD80 fleet. A full list of today’s affected flights can be found at the following link gofly.us/14ruJt2. Allegiant has worked to contact and accommodate all passengers impacted by this disruption, and designated compensation will be attached to each customer profile. As of this update, Allegiant is now operating 18 fully compliant MD80 aircraft, along with its six B757 and three A319 series aircraft. Allegiant expects to have up to 22 MD80 aircraft available to operate by Sept. 21. Allegiant expects all regularly scheduled Saturday flights, including those rescheduled by today’s delays, will operate normally. All passengers are encouraged to sign up for text alerts for the most up-to-date flight status information at gofly.us/ZN5Lyl. A subsequent operational update is expected Friday evening and will be made available here. Allegiant is committed, above all else, to the safety of our passengers and crew, and we will continue to work to ensure that all of our fleet meets our high standards.
