UPDATE AS OF 9.15AM SA TIME: places are burning out. It appears by the grace of God (if you had seen or been close to the fire you could appreciate the miracle this is) that pockets of land and indeed horses and other livestock have survived. However, the perimitres of the fire are still out of control (last contact at 8.30am), denying access once again. Once the borders are clear, cfs have cleared the area etc we will roll in. We all appreciate everyones offers of assistance, but we expect to find alot of injured, burnt or deceased animals. Including horses. Wont be for the faint of hard. Expect the worst, hope for the best.. we are prepared regardless thanks to a huge crew, includjng first aid officers, our amazing vet Elizabeth Woolsey Herbert, one of the most amazing men i know Troy Coombe of Champions Horse Transport and his family, trucks, stock crates a massive list of accomodation areas and much more. The crews over the past now 60 hours who have worked with me are amazing. Its a team effort and could not have been.done without them. Emily Murray, Terry Hocking, Lisette Santin-rees and seriously.so many. I didnt tag or not on my.facebook. will get a list of everyone later when we make it to the biggest pub with the coldest drinks once this is all over. ;)
