UPDATE: Friday afternoon... Please forgive the lack of updates (typically no news is good news from us... Bc it usually means we are so busy chasing and entertaining Ryan that we dont have a moment to sit down and update his page!). And that is definitely the case the past few days! Ryan is doing really great- he is up around 7:30 and plays hard until 10pm with about 1-2hr nap in between. Medically he is doing good also- his counts are slowly coming up... Our goal is a 500 ANC for three days in a row. The ANC is calculated primarily with the white cell count. So yesterday Ryans white count was 0.5 with an ANC of 120... And today how white count went to 0.8 with an ANC of 210. We are so thankful to be seeing this increase and pray it keeps going up fast!! (( FYI: ANC is also a figure that shows how strong your immune system is to fight infection. A normal/healthy persons ANC is around 3000-5000. Anything below 1000 is extremely dangerous for risk of infection and below 500 is severe. )) We are so excited to be closer to being able to go HOME!!! We really need/want to see Ryan eating a little but more... its obviously his tastebuds have changed big time... So sad because anything remotely sweet he doesnt want- but hopefully with time that will change!!
