UPDATE ON FAIRHILL PLAY PARK & TENNIS GROUNDS CLOSURE: From Monday 30th June and is programmed to end week commencing 4th August 2014. The Council have been successful in securing over 90% funding for the refurbishment project, which provides a fantastic opportunity to upgrade and enhance the existing park with no cost to the rate payer. To avail of the funding the project must be completed by September 2014 and will require the play park to be closed during the 5-6 week construction phase. Although the timeframe is opportunistic it provides a one off opportunity to create a tremendous play resource for children within the Cookstown District. Council regret any inconvenience this temporary situation will cause however we believe the public will reap the benefits of the greatly enhanced facility for many years to come. Council will endeavour to ensure that other play parks within the District are open at all times.
