UPDATE ON HAWAII CRIMINALIZING POVERTY: Aside from making the houseless pay over $100 to access this shelter, the Institute of Human Services (IHS) also requires the houseless to be a Hawaii resident with valid ID. Many former residents have said they are subjected to abuse. Now bed bugs infest IHS and Honolulu Mayor Caldwell wants to pass laws criminalizing the houseless to coerce them into this shelter and those like it. How is this constitutional? FYI, during city sweeps of the houseless, IDs may be confiscated, which prohibits the houseless in these sweeps from being allowed entry to IHS because of the proof of ID requirement needed for entry. facebook/photo.php?v=10152489742925479
