UPDATE ON MAKAYLEE Day 17 – January 23, 2015 But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him ...” I Corinthians 2:9 A short update this evening ... Doctors have taken MaKaylee off the heavy pain meds and placed her back on the original ones, at moms request. The medication was too strong and, after much research, became a concern. She was sleeping way too much yesterday and into the evening once the pills took effect. We put our hands and hearts together and, with her current meds, she is more coherent and her pain levels are about 4 on a scale from 1-10! This afternoon she ate sushi! They are giving her protein shakes and she is on a general diet of whatever she wants. She just needs to chew it longer and take smaller bites! She has requested grandmas pumpkin pie on Saturday and homemade Banana Split ice cream on Sunday … And thats exactly what shes going to have! Shes lost about 15 lbs. and they are adding lots of calcium and protein to her diet to strengthen and assist in the healing of the broken bones. MaKaylee is in great spirits and praising God daily for His grace and mercy during this time of healing! We keep lifting her up and giving praise and glory for Gods glorious gifts!
