UPDATE on Cephus: Where do I begin? Since May 2013, our lives have been a roller coaster ride. A lot of shock, fear, anger, tears, hope, dreams, faith, mercies, support, love and prayers have also been on that ride with us as well, just like all of our faithful, loving families and friends have been. We could not have made it without each and everyone of you. We appreciate every text, call, facebook message, prayer, etc...that you all have given us and still give us daily as we face this battle. It touches our hearts in a way that you can only imagine. We know we are two truly blessed people and are so thankful for it. Cephus is still in Community Hospice in Vidalia, Ga. Its been a slow go, but he is making some progress in pain management. He is still weak, can barely eat and still loosing weight. He is still in good spirits despite all that is stacked against him. Guess that just shows hes got the good Lord in his corner and has a peace and understanding about this whole ordeal that we can only hope to have one day. Its so very hard to watch a loved one slowly deteriorate, it just tears you up inside cause there is nothing on earth you can do for them except pray, which is the only medicine that is a for sure cure. I pray for mercy for Cephus, for comfort as he endures the torment of this dreaded cancer that plagues so many. Seems like we hear of someone being added to a prayer list every week with cancer. Its so heartbreaking to watch the destruction it causes those stricken with it. I pray for a cure to come soon. We will be seeing a new group of Oncologists from the Mayo Clinic out of Jacksonville that comes to Douglas, Ga. for consultations. We have an apt this Thursday. Please pray that there is still some options for Cephus in the area of chemo. His cancer has spread from the initial diagnosis in May 2013 of the left lung to now being in the stomach, adrenal glands, lymph nodes in the chest cavity as well as back in the left lung. He just had a hospital stay from last Tues through Fri in the JD Hospital for blood clots in both lungs. Pray that the medicine has dissolved them. We will see his family doctor for that follow up next Monday. Keep praying for Cephus. I know God hears our pleas. I will keep you all posted via facebook. Hugs and Love to all......Cephus & Leisa
