*URGENT* Please read and share. Due to *extremely* unforseen circumstances, SVB will NOT be held at the Byron Hall in Harrow, and is instead now scheduled to take place at the HOG itself, this weekend. Im not going to go into the extremely frustrating circumstances as to why, but we have been trying to resolve this issue, alas to no avail. The main objective to remember is this. SVB has NEVER cancelled or changed its date once announced, and whatever happens, the games that have been confirmed and scheduled to run, Namely Smash Bros and Tekken, as they had community reps organising stuff from early days. They WILL be running. Ultra Street fighter 4 will be running on Sunday, however will be limited to a 64 man cap. It will be starting at 2pm, so please be here with time to register. THESE ARE THE ONLY 3 GAMES THAT WILL BE RUNNING THIS WEEKEND. The smaller games that were initially planned to run alongside the big 3 will have their own event scheduled to happen within the next 2 months. Please use this thread to enquire for any details, so that everyone can read them and keep well informed. We have already informed Tom Scott (Smash Bros.) and Rehan Sherwani (Tekken), the organisers of both games, who will be informing their respective communties now. Its very unfortunate that these things happen, but they do. SVB 2011 was nearly cancelled because the police didnt want the venue open as it was during the riots. Most recently, the London Anime and cosplay meet up was denied use of Jubilee Gardens at the last moment. Having the HoG as a back up measure is a blessing in disguise. There are a few good points from this that are enabling us to give back to the players who are coming. 1) We have no limitations or time constraints in the HOG. 2) Players will be welcome to use the venue to stay in, rather than paying for hotels, reducing the cost to everyone. 3) The arcade machines will be playable as a healthy alternative and at no extra cost to the attendees. 4)Access will be at all hours, you will be free to come and go. 5) The HoG is only a few miles from the original location, so no major disruptions to travel. Again, we totally understand the frustration some may be experiencing reading this, we have feelings towards this situation also, but are even now re-organising the HoG layout to maximise space. We are sure that you can guaranteed of having a good time, and hope that you can make it. Regards, The HoG and SVB team.
