US and China , similarities..ll. Some say that that nation will surpass us soon as the greastest nation in the world, others might be more honest and admit they passed us some time ago. We are a rocket falling back to earth and if we are still ahead of them, it wont be much longer as we are accelerating our descent and they are still rising. Comparing first ladies may be difficult as China is a closed and secret society in many respects while we are not. It is know that the Chinese first lady served her country as a soldier in the Peoples Liberation Army. She is an accomplished opera singer and has one daughter who attends Harvard. It would be interesting to compare the first couples academic records but they are a tightly held secret. (In the UNITED STATES) Most people believe that the wife of the american president can do more modified pushups then her chinese counterpart. In the intellectual compartment, as a race chinese excel and surpass almost all others, and even though they excel in sports and olympic events they put an even higher premium on education. Then again , their president is about creating wealth for many people , where as our president and first lady want to distribute wealth more evenly. I find it ironic that I find myself agreeing with the chinese position more the the new direction OBAMA is moving us towards. Of course people will say that the chinese use the power of govt to maintain control and power over the people , but we do that here . They say that the chinese intimidate amd manipulates the press, but we do that here. I wonder if the daughter of their first family got accepted on her accademic merits or as window dressing to fill out a cultural and political diverse student population, How could Harvard decide where to peg her? Communist, rural asian. lesbian, scholar? I dont think any self respecting chinese student would accept an acceptence like that, and they would not have gotten to where they are if it were not for intelligence, hard work and using competative social skills we now shun as a nation. Anyway, Hialary will be coming out soon to tell the nation she is a lesbian. I think the chinese will politely smile and just keep their heads down and keep working. Who cares what the Hilary eats before bed anyway? As if it matters to anyone but her, and whos in her bed. Chinese must find us very amusing.
