USIs GO STEM! Summer Camp helps high school girls overcome barriers and stereotypes faced while preparing for and pursuing science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) related careers through a four-day summer camp June 1-5. Applicants must be entering ninth- through 12th-grade in fall 2014. Campers will live in USI housing and work with female college students and faculty in the STEM disciplines. Holiday World & Splashin Safari theme park in Santa Claus, Indiana, will be used as a laboratory for experiments and activities in chemistry and nutrition, mathematics, biology, and engineering/applied physics. Cost is $130 including lodging, all meals, field trip costs, and supplemental learning materials. Registration information is available at swistem.org. The application deadline is May 11. Scholarships are available for those who qualify.
