Ugly article about Eastern Ky in todays New York Times Magazine....very sloppy journalism...statistics too general, based on six severely depressed coal counties....their metrics guage low income nationally without considering the low cost of living.......makes us all look bad......and yknow what? I think it might be a good thing if it keeps out hucksters and opportunists and unscrupulous developers that have no respect for the peace and natural beauty of Eastern Ky....read, tell us your thoughts......Its a lot better life to be poor in Eastern KY than it is to be poor in some depressed urban environment ..you at least have natural surroundings, low crime and low cost of living...
