Umm...I didnt know that in the pre-EPRDF #Ethiopia, there was such thing as pan-Ethiopianism’– a national identity that goes beyond the confines of one’s narrow ethnic, regional, and other sectarian identity; and, a national spirit which largely signifies an ideal, aspiration and a shared sense of Ethiopian consciousness. So, I guess Professor Taye wants to do away with ethnic-federalism because a) its TPLFs creation and by extension political tool b) it is primordial and magnifies a false sense of us versus strange them. c) he (we) miss the good old days when Ethiopias socio-political system was based on a unified, pan-Ethiopian (*read pan-Amhara) ideology.
