Please join us Saturday, September 28, for The Voice of the Martyrs’ “Unashamed” Regional Conference. Conference speakers will encourage and challenge you through personal testimonies, readings from God’s Word and information that will stir and equip you for his eternal purposes. The conference will feature the following speakers: Gracia Burnham was a missionary in the Philippines with her husband, Martin. On May 27, 2001, they were kidnapped by the militant Muslim group Abu Sayyaf and held captive in the jungle for 376 days. During a rescue attempt by the Philippine Army on June 7, 2002, Martin was killed and Gracia was wounded. She shares her story in the books In the Presence of My Enemies and To Fly Again. Russell Stendal was raised on the mission field in Colombia and became a missionary jungle pilot at age 19. He was kidnapped in 1983 by Marxist rebels and held hostage for five months. Today, Russell operates Christian radio stations, publishes Christian literature and makes parachute drops of Christian literature and shortwave radios (VOM parachute project) into remote areas of Colombia. Special Guest — This special guest speaker travels regularly overseas to work directly with the persecuted church. Todd Nettleton has been on staff with VOM since 1998. He has traveled to Sudan, Egypt, Turkey, Eritrea, Pakistan, Indonesia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Ethiopia, Myanmar, Azerbaijan and other nations. Todd was part of the writing team for Extreme Devotion and FOXE: Voices of the Martyrs. He has been interviewed more than 1,850 times by various media outlets, including CNN, the BBC, CBN, Newsweek and TBN. Musician/vocalist Amy Shreve and husband, Gary, lived in Nashville, TN, for many years. They have recorded 16 CDs varying from harp instrumental to a vocal with contemporary style and full instrumentation accompaniment. Two of their CDs have been done with The Voice of the Martyrs. They have led worship and music at VOM national conferences and regional conferences across the United States. The newest CD includes the song “Beautiful Scars,” written on behalf of our faithful brothers and sisters. The conference will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at: Emmanuel Baptist Church 1515 E College Way Mount Vernon, WA 98273 Doors open at 8 a.m. for registration, resource center and prayer. Lunch will be on your own from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at area restaurants. There is no cost to attend the conference, but an offering will be received.
