Unbundled PHCN, Still Yet a Consumer Burden. The Jonathanians - TopicsExpress

Unbundled PHCN, Still Yet a Consumer Burden. The Jonathanians are quick to point to the privatization of PHCN under the Goodluck Jonathan administration as one of the achievement of Mr. President, hence to compensate him for a job well-done, he should be offered a golden handshake of second term. Before PHCN was unbundled, the consumer bears the cost of all that it entails for him to have electricity supplies. You have to buy the pole, wire and pay PHCN workers that will do the installations. Most people were doing these themselves on the ground that bureaucracy and redtapism that is associated with government establishment is not immune from PHCN. With the privatization exercise, consumers expected efficiency in service delivery and prompt response to system break down, however this is not the case. How can one be paying electricity bill monthly then still have to pay to top/replace BEDC transformer oil? Some places transformer with minor problem have been kept in the dark for several months running just because the consumers refused to raise money to carry out repair. How can we be loading bullets in someones else gun? BEDC or whatever nomenclature it is christened is a private owned entity and they must bear their burden. Therefore, I am using this medium to call on BEDC, Oghara District Manager and the top echelon at Benin, Lagos and Abuja offices to make electricity supply to Oghara stable and constant. Secondly, they should restore electricity supply to the Winners Chapel transformer along Ibori Road with immediate effect. If we consumers raised the money to top/replace the oil in your transformer, God knows we are not paying electricity bill in the next four months. Yes, we have to take the law into our hands because any idiot that tresspass with ladder will be vehemently resisted. Enough is Enough.
