Under 16’s Reign Men v. Glasgow City 57 - 86 Saturday saw Reign U16 Men host Glasgow City in their return league fixture, following an away defeat by over 70 points in early October 2014. With Reign able to field a full strength starting five, along with a line-up on the bench that is growing with confidence with every passing game, this was certain to be a test of just how far the squad had progressed in the last 3 months. The match certainly did not disappoint, with Reign unlucky to end the first quarter down by only 8 points, following a last second 3-point shot from Geddes. The second quarter was an equally close affair with some excellent defence from Reign restricting Glasgow to long range, albeit deadly, shooting from dangerman Geddes. The half end with the score at 29 – 41. The second half saw Asst Coach McLean complete a full squad rotation as injury and foul trouble resulted in a number of enforced changes. While the match eventually slipped away from Reign, the entire squad can be rightly proud of their battling team performance and impressive individual displays of offensive transition play and solid rebounding. Final score 57 – 86.
