United Methodist Board of Global Ministries Meeting this Week: The directors of the General Board of Global Ministries will meet this week, April 10-12 at the organization’s New York City offices. You are invited to watch the live stream of the opening worship and general secretary’s report today, Thursday, April 10 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. ET via umcmission.org/live • The opening worship on Thursday, April 10 at 2:00 p.m. will be led by director Bishop Hee-Soo Jung of Wisconsin who is the president of UMCOR’s board of directors. • Worship will be followed by a report to the board by General Secretary Thomas Kemper at 3:00 p.m. ET. The theme of the meeting is Daring Easter: The Beauty and Risk of Mission. According to a letter sent to directors: The spirit behind this theme is the essence of “ministry with” and the essence of the incarnational Gospel we proclaim. It is what we do at Global Ministries, and God is calling us to go even further to the “places wed rather not go” the unpopular, dangerous, controversial, extra-painful places. Daring Easter means being willing to be with Jesus in Holy Friday, Daring Resurrection means being willing to be with people in their pain.
