Unity: We are better together- A practical yet challenging word delivered by our Pastor Judith Burrell Henry yesterday. Unity is indicative of oneness. Unity correlates with wholeness, solidarity and undividedness. God calls us to Unity because unity is more beneficial. He requires us to be united because it is only in this way that we can truly stand against the enemy. The presence of sin causes division. It separates us from the will of God just like it severed the connection between Adam and God. Therefore in order to be effective Christians, we must be at peace with God, within ourselves and with each other. Sometimes in order to make peace, we will be required to lay aside pride. We will need to relate with each other with meekness and kindness. We will called to make allowances for the flaws of our brethren whilst they in turn work out their salvation. No more will we engage in back biting or judgemental discussions, instead we will endeavor to live peaceably on earth because when we get to be with the king in eternity, we will not be apportioned exclusive parts of heaven simply because we refuse to get along or choose to engage in personality clashes. Heaven begins here, it begins with you and it begins with me. Let us be one, for indeed, Unity is better. Fantastic word!!!
