Unpopular opinion. Dr Mariyam Shakeela faced a lot of challenges as the health minister of Maldives. From what I comprehended from the talks she and I have had, she tried a lot to improve things. Though heaps of serious problems arose from the health sector in the past months, she tried well to take a further step forward to overcome them and make sure they never occur again She tried hard. Under her leadership, the ministry has started works of renovation of the Health Centers and Hospitals in the atolls that are at such bad condition. Even though it was a pretty different than the actual concept, she introduced the sea ambulance service with equipment on board Gulf Craft launches (remember that we can only do work with regards to how much capability we have to do with. We didnt have the actual Sea Ambulance launches and this service was pretty needed, so why is using un-used Gulf Crafts after maintenance as sea ambulances something to bash about?). . At times like these, I feel like a word of praise for her would be super nice, than bashing her for her wrongful acts. I mean, no one would ever deliberately do things wrong to get peoples criticism. Thank you Dr Shakeela for your services to the health sector. I for one, give you a standing ovation (y)
