Until the killing of black men - black mothers sons is as important as the killing of white men - white mothers sons, we who believe in freedom cannot rest. I remember singing this song with my mother when I was a little girl. I am saddened that it remains as relevant now as it was then. Privilege is not having to worry that your child is going to be a victim of violence when he walks out the door. I do not know one mother of a young man of color who has not faced this fear. We who believe in freedom cannot rest until it comes.
