Up again in the wee hours, cant shut my brain off. The curse of the polymath creative mind. Before bed last night I finally broke through my piano composing slump and put together the seeds of two promising new pieces. The thing about composing eclectic music is that its not learnable, not teachable, theres no pattern or techniques to study and follow, so one must await his muse to get its shit together. Music is alone in this as the ultimate art form. Yesterday I received promising news that one of my many inventions is coming closer to being picked up by the #1 manufacturer in that arena. If it is picked up and generates the income stream I know it potentially can then I hope to be able to buy some land where my closest neighbor cannot be seen or heard, and I will build my dream off-grid home. My oldest son continues to make slow progress with his partner in developing the inventions and products Ive gifted to him. The Aloe-Ha (TM) line of natural skin care products that I created last year in Maui has been greatly expanded by my son. He and his partner have umbrellaed Aloe-Ha under a broader products development concept into which Ive tossed some of my other inventions. If the invention that looks like its going to be picked up produces the income it should then my son will be able to expedite their company, and then an array of my ideas will emerge. I dont have the nuts-and-bolts business ambition in me anymore to be involved in what my son wants to do, I just want to retire to a nudist lifestyle out on my own remote land somewhere with my doctor lady. The one invention Im abandoning is my BS/FS CGL. Its enough for me that China wanted to throw upwards of $60-million in R&D funding at it before I declined. Its enough that I know the technology does exactly what it is designed to do. I derive great intellectual satisfaction from knowing the technology is brilliant. I just dont have the piss-and-vinegar in me anymore to pursue the incredibly complicated path -- politically and financially -- to see such a technology become mainstream. Its so much easier (?) to get simple inventions to market. Well, sunrise isnt very far away now, so Im going to go crawl back into bed in hopes of getting some sleep before El Sol invades the bedroom.
