Upcoming A Line Service Diversions From Joseph B. Raskin from Fxpro@aol to 1 recipient Show Details This is to inform you of MTA New York City Transit’s plans for track work along the A line’s elevated structure in Ozone Park and its Rockaway Branch which will affect service on the line on weekends during September, October, and November of 2013. The service diversions are needed to carry out additional track and infrastructure repairs of the damage inflicted to the line by Superstorm Sandy and for track replacement work in Ozone Park and on the Far Rockaway line. The following service diversion is necessary to carry out the track replacement work in Ozone Park from 12:30 a.m. on Saturday to 4:45 a.m. on Monday on the September 21-23, September 28-30 and October 5-7 weekends: Ø No subway service between Euclid Avenue and Lefferts Boulevard and Euclid Avenue and Howard Beach-JFK. Shuttle buses will provide replacement service to the stations on the Lefferts Boulevard branch and to the Aqueduct-North Conduit Avenue and Howard Beach-JFK Stations. Ø Shuttle trains will run between Howard Beach-JFK and Far Rockaway-Mott Avenue. Ø Service on the Rockaway Park Shuttle is unaffected by this diversion. In order to carry out the storm repair work, the following actions will be taken from 6 a.m. on Saturday to 10 p.m. on Sunday on the October 12-13, October 19-20, October 26-27, November 2-3, November 9-10 and November 16-17 weekends: Ø No subway service between Howard Beach-JFK and the Rockaways. Ø Two shuttle bus routes will operate between Howard Beach-JFK and the stations on the Far Rockaway and Rockaway Park lines, providing service to Broad Channel. Ø A line service to Lefferts Boulevard will not be affected by this work. All schedules are subject to change. We will post notices in all affected stations and make announcements on all trains informing our riders of these temporary service changes. Service notices will also be posted on our website, mta.info/weekender, and notices will also be printed in local newspapers prior to the commencement of the project.
