Update: Babys still staying put! :) Thank you again, everyone, for the prayers, visits, messages, texts, and support for my family. I am (once again) humbled at the selfless love of my friends and family. I dont know how I would get through this life without each of you!! I came down with a fever last night, accompanied by a sore throat and headache, and was told that both Influenza A (Avian flu) and Influenza B (this years flu) have been reported on this floor. Awesome. They checked me for both, and thankfully both came back negative. They also tested for strep, but Im still waiting on that one. So Niki, Jill, Margaret, and Sydney, I hope I didnt get any of you sick!! Tylenol helped get the fever down and reduce the headache, so now its just the sore throat. As for the rest, Im doing well. My blood pressures have come down and are staying where theyre at for now. Still elevated, but not to the scary level they were when I was admitted. They did confirm Preeclampsia with more labs, so now well wait and see how this goes. They want to schedule a time for a neonatologist to come and speak with Todd and me and to take us on a tour of the NICU. As difficult as it is to be away from my family, the NICU is what Im dreading the most. I cant imagine not being able to take this little girl home with us when I finally do leave, and trying to juggle being at home with my kids and other responsibilities with being here with her. Anyone who has had experience with NICU, Id very much welcome any pointers! Again, keep those prayers coming! I truly have felt comforted and know that this will all work out. A day at a time!
