Update Friday night Well I thought I would get an update on tonight. I had good intentions last night but my body didnt cooperate. I sat down in my recliner to write the update but fell asleep before I got started !!! Kim has had two good days. Yesterday she was able to tolerate the ventilator being in cpap mode all day !!! They are trying to get her meds adjusted and I believe that is working out. Her aunt Nancy and uncle Donnie visited with her yesterday and she enjoyed that. Today she is doing good....she is asleep right now. When I came in this afternoon I asked her how she felt and she mouthed Im tired. There was a chair in her room....I ask, have you been sitting up in this chair, and she mouthed yeah...two hours !!! The nurse said it wasnt quite two hours but almost, which is great !!! They changed out her trach today to a different style...and a smaller size. The respiratory therapist was just in and said that tomorrow they will start capping the vent and put in a t bar with oxygen. He also said that if she does well with the t bar that they will put in a speaking valve soon. The physical therapist only work Monday thru Friday so she will get plenty of rest this weekend. I know I say it all the time but....Thank You All for all you do....especially Your Prayers !!! Please Pray for Kim !!! Tony, Caitlin, Nick Richard, Sheila, Christy
