Update Marcus: After five futile days of attempting to acclimate Marcus to water, we had to finally concede to his fears. We have made every attempt to make swimming a positive therapy for him but after realizing he was not going to overcome his fears we had to move on to something else in order to teach his body how to walk. He loves the grass and the grass is just high enough to make it therapeutic for his limbs to begin moving in the proper fashion. Marcus also has a twin-sized textured foam pad on which he loves to visit and play (when he isnt tearing chunks out of it). He is exceeding all expectations we had for him. When he first arrived he did not even know how to swim on rough surfaces, basically rendering him immobile. Well as you can see, that was well in the past. Tomorrow, hopefully, or Tuesday at the latest Mr. Orthodics himself will be dropping in to make casts for his devices which will enable him to move more as a puppy his age. Like I stated previously, this will be interesting to see since he has the attention span of any puppy IE two seconds or less and even less patience. Meanwhile he is enjoying all the wonderful new experiences of any puppy.
